Vector Informatik GmbH develops software tools and components for networking in electronic systems. They use a generic car to achieve a brand-independent representation of their systems.
The challenge of the project was to transform the design language of the existing Vector generic car into a more modern design. The form and appearance of the car were adapted to the spirit of the times, but were developed with clear, independent lighting elements. Nevertheless, a correlation to the previous model had to be maintained.
The design had to show an appealing design and had to be technically plausible in order to visualize various Vector technology topics.
As in many real design processes, the cameras the designer envisioned, for example, had to be replaced by conventional exterior mirrors. The lights and the entire light presentation at the start of the car were conceived and designed for workability. The design process lasted over six months and included intensive coordination with the customer.
The car was modelled to be used as a high-poly model for high-quality CGI productions. The interior was only rudimentarily designed in order to achieve a vague shadow interior.
