Vienna - AR module for the ivie-App
To mark the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss's birth, Vienna Tourist Board has launched the Strauss Waltz Challenge – a digital scavenger hunt through Vienna. It's the third gamification challenge in the ivie app, which has been downloaded over 1.5 million times since 2020. A new feature is an AR special that can be experienced directly at the Johann Strauss monument in the Stadtpark.
With the AR module we developed, users have the opportunity to:
- virtually bring the monument to life using an animation by the artist Julian Lee-Harather,
- take their first waltz steps by following virtual dance steps on the screen,
- have themselves "gilded" with a face filter – and shine alongside Johann Strauss.
