VR goggles on and you're ready to go. Participants are first greeted by Porsche racing driver Sascha Maassen, after which they land in the pit garage.
Virtual Reality Porsche VR Driver Training
With the Porsche Racing Experience, Porsche makes it possible to train as a racing driver. The training consists of three different levels that build on each other. At the start of the Porsche Racing Experience each year, participants receive a six-day Level 1 intensive course at a race track in Europe.
To prepare participants for Level 1 of the Racing Experience, LIGHTSHAPE has developed a VR training application for the Pico G2 4K VR goggles. With this VR application, each participant is optimally prepared for his first training in the training as a racing driver.

Exploration of the Pit Garage
Now the participants can rotate in the Pit Garage and explore it from two sides.
Instruction
The participants can watch some instructional videos (e.g. on over/under control, viewing direction, etc.) or trailers that get them in the mood for the event via the two monitors on the walls.

The monitors also provide additional information about the race track and various driving techniques.
Exploration of the GT3 Cup
Participants can teleport directly into the interior of the GT3 and explore it from the inside. Short video clips by Sascha Maassen explain the various buttons and switches as needed.
Porsche Racing Experience Further development of VR driver training
Back in 2017, we developed a VR application with cardboards for the VR driver training of the Porsche Racing Experience. To control it, participants could look at a certain button for a longer time, which loaded the corresponding video. In 2019, control via controller was added with the switch to Oculus Go. The switch made it possible to navigate the menu.
Since 2021, Pico VR goggles have been in use in combination with 360° images. This enables telepathy to specific jump points in space. The GT3 can be viewed by the participant from two sides. In addition, the participant can rotate and thus view the entire Pit Garage.
