Based on their concept and in cooperation with the United Digital Group (UDG), the 3D WebGL basis for the introduction of the new Porsche 911 was created. The client wanted the implementation to take place in the still young Web standard WebGL, so that the 3D application could be accessed directly in the browser. Both a plug-in and an app on mobile devices were thus avoided. It was also important that the application should represent a technological benchmark in the area where the limits of what was technically possible were explored. Many functions were used here that had never been used professionally in this form before. Besides the configuration of the vehicle, the user could playfully experience the vehicle technology and new features.
The four vehicle types could be experienced interactively (Coupe, Cabriolet, Targa...) with interior and exterior. Beyond that various paints and wheels could be configured. In addition, the users could experience the bending light and the chassis in an interactive ride. There was also the opportunity to view the partially animated engine in action.
Porsche AG is an automobile manufacturer based in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.
In addition to the „Red Dot Award“, the application also received the „Best of the Best Award“.
