3D Visualisation Groz-Beckert Stitch types Animation
Sewing machine needles and the different types of stitches that can be sewn with them are very complex. The needles must meet certain requirements in order to withstand the high load of up to 6,500 and more stitches per minute. To convey this complexity clearly, Groz-Beckert needed animations that made this complex technology visible.
LIGHTSHAPE has created four different animations for the respective stitch types 301 (double lockstitch, DST), 401 (double chainstitch, DKST), 504 (overlock chainstitch three-thread) and 605 (overlock chainstitch types).

In advance, generic models of sewing machines had to be created, independent of the manufacturer, by our customer Groz-Beckert. Subsequently, reference shots of the different stitch types were taken in order to understand them. In painstaking detail work, the details of the respective stitch type were worked out and implemented in the animation.
In a second step, additional animations were created in super slow motion to show the complexity of the stitch types in more detail. The animations are used at Groz-Beckert in the training area for their trainees and also in sales.
